OMB issues decision on §43 motion for Triangle

by Steven Wood last modified 2007-07-17 10:54

Original decision on Queen West Triangle is upheld.

On Tuesday July 10th the OMB handed down its decision on the Section 43 Appeal that Active 18 and the City brought to have the three cases in the Queen West Triangle reheard.  This came as a great shock to Active 18, as we felt that the Province should not be permitted to arbitrarily over-ride the City's Official Plan and Zoning regulations.

We will continue to fight for what we believe is a pivotal issue for our future - the City's right to determine its destiny and plan for its own future.  We feel that if the province would like to become planners for the City of Toronto - they should take on that task with all its associated costs and not waste our City's time and resources by overturning the Plans and By-laws that the City has worked so hard to implement and which conform to the Provinces own policies.
