Report from the Active 18 Steering Committee, September 11, 2006

The first week of hearings ended on Friday afternoon with hope in the air.

The City’s lawyer (Dawn Jubb) advised the Chair - Donald Granger, that the City’s Planning Department would like to sit down with all Parties and try to negotiate a settlement this Tuesday.

That meeting will be held at City Hall between noon and 4PM on Tuesday September 12th.

THERE WILL BE NO HEARING EITHER MONDAY SEPTEMBER 11TH OR TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH AS A RESULT.

Although we are optimists, we do believe that the hearing will resume, as originally scheduled on Wednesday September 13th at 9:30 AM and Thursday September 14th at 9:30.
No hearings are scheduled for Friday September 15th.

Lori Martin of the City’s Culture Division will be testifying this Wednesday, about the importance of the Queen West Triangle and environs as a creative hub.
