How do I get involved in the process?
Are you feeling disenfranchised by not being able to figure out how to get involved in the processes of shaping the neighbourhood?
Active 18 seeks involvement with the developers and owners to help them understand the needs of the neighborhood residents and users. We are all stake-holders in this community. Ultimately, the developers, planners and city politicians need to hear what people need and want in the area. The association is very powerful – We are the key players in this equation. But we need your VOICE AND OPINION.
By joining you will be made aware of all activities, meetings and relevant information you may need to support our shared vision.
What else Can I do?
- Write letters or emails to elected officials and staff. Go the the CONTACTS page. Let them know you are concerned.
- Place a flyer in your window, make your concern known!
- Any relevant email you write to Active18 can be shared and posted on this site.
- Attend all meetings that are posted on the Home page. They all take place in the Neighbourhood.
Contact your MPP!
Write your area's Member of Provincial Parliament. Go the the Contact your MPP page. Let them know what your concerns are.
Take Control!
We can be very powerful as a group.
The citizens can be key players in this equation.
There is a variety of planning tools that the community can participate in. For example a recent and effective process, please see the Build Form and Density Study for the Niagara neighbourhood (South of King St. and West of Bathurst, in Joe Pantalone's ward). The study will be used to direct zoning in the area. The document is very accessible. It describes fundamental planning tools in a clear and simple way, with highly readable graphics.
Check it out at: http://www.toronto.ca/planning/niagara.htm
The appropritate tools to use in the planning of the Queen Street Triangle will be discussed at length during our meetings. For more information on other processes to foster good planning, please referer to our Questions and Answers quesiton: 'How can we take CONTROL and what are our TOOLS?'
Be Informed.

The City has not received any application for this site but it is part of a potential land assembly that is considered by the adjacent landowner & client developer.
